What is nsin?

nsin is a service that sits in front of your website and makes it faster, safer, and always reachable — for visitors near you and around the world.

You point your website to nsin once. After that, nsin does the heavy lifting for you. There is nothing to install on your computer.

  • Your site stays online. Even when the direct path to your server has problems, nsin helps visitors still reach your site.
  • Your site loads faster. nsin keeps copies of your pages close to your visitors, so they don’t have to wait.
  • Your site is protected. nsin blocks many kinds of bad traffic before it ever reaches your server, and it adds a free security lock (SSL/HTTPS).
  • No tech skills needed. Most things work out of the box. You only change a few simple settings in your dashboard.

Here are some terms used in these guides. Each one is explained in plain words the first time it appears, but here is a quick list:

  • Domain — your website’s address, like example.com.
  • DNS — the “phone book” of the internet. It tells browsers which server your domain points to. See Managing DNS Records.
  • Nameservers — the servers in charge of your domain’s phone book. To use nsin, you point your domain to nsin’s nameservers. See Nameservers.
  • SSL / HTTPS — the lock icon in the browser. It keeps the connection between your visitor and your site private. See SSL Overview.
  • Cache — a saved copy of your pages that loads faster. See How Caching Works.
